SCORE 91 5 D Street Sw Washington Dc The monitoring wells will be installed using a truck-mounted drill rig, which uses continuous flight, hollow stem augers (hsa) to advance the borehole. During drilling operations, soil samples will be collected every five feet using a split-spoon sampler. Each sample will be screened for the presence of volatile organic compounds (vocs) using a photoionization detector (pid) equipped with a 10. 6 electron volt lamp. Based on the estimated depth of groundwater at approximately 45 feet below ground surface (bgs), up to three soil samples from each boring will be collected for laboratory analysis. One soil sample will be collected from the capillary fringe directly above the water table and two samples may be collected from within the vadose zone if elevated pid readings or visual or olfactory evidence of hydrocarbon impacts are observed. All soil cuttings will be containerized in 55-galllon steel drums pending receipt of analytical data to determine proper disposal requirements. SCORE 91 48 Georgia Avenue Nw Washington Dc The monitoring wells will be installed using a truck-mounted geoprobe direct-push soil sampler. The geoprobe uses a hydraulic hammer to push a macrocore lined steel rod with a polyethylene sleeve into the ground in five-foot increments. The macrocore is then withdrawn from the ground and the sleeve removed containing a relatively undisturbed soil core. The sleeve is cut open allowing examination and sampling of soil from the core sample. To prevent potential vertical migration of contaminants, a dual tube geoprobe sampling system will be used to drill all environmental borings on site, consisting of an outer steel tube which acts as a casing for the boring, and an inner sampling tube. The wells will be completed as two-inch diameter polyvinyl chloride (pvc) wells, with 0. 10-inch machine slot screen and pvc casing, to an anticipated final depth of feet bgs or dpt refusal. The monitoring well will be screened across the water table with the machine slot screen extending 5 feet above the Date: March 24, 2016 Contractor: Jon Horner Client: Brian Schiff | Permit type: Excavation; monitoring well (each addl), excavation; monitoring well (single) | Permit status: Permit expired | Expiration date: June 23, 2016 | Permit id: Pa125233 | |||||
