SCORE 91 The monitoring wells will be installed using a truck-mounted drill rig, which uses continuous flight, hollow stem augers (hsa) to advance the borehole. During drilling operations, soil samples will be collected every five feet using a split-spoon sampler. Each sample will be screened for the presence of volatile organic compounds (vocs) using a photoionization detector (pid) equipped with a 10. 6 electron volt lamp. Based on the estimated depth of groundwater at approximately 45 feet below ground surface (bgs), up to three soil samples from each boring will be collected for laboratory analysis. One soil sample will be collected from the capillary fringe directly above the water table and two samples may be collected from within the vadose zone if elevated pid readings or visual or olfactory evidence of hydrocarbon impacts are observed. All soil cuttings will be containerized in 55-galllon steel drums pending receipt of analytical data to determine proper disposal requirements.
