SCORE 95 Seattle parks and recreation (spr) owns and operates a variety of public parks that include in-water facilities such as swim beaches and recreational floats throughout the city of seattle. Swim floats are anchored using wood pilings. The shallow water area of swim beaches are indicated by a line of pilings with a rope strung between the pilings. Over time some of these wood pilings have begun to fail and are in need of replacement and or they are no longer needed and can be removed. Spr is specifically targeting swim beaches along lake washington for needed repairs in 2016. The project proposal is to remove existing wood pilings at the swim beach at madison park and replace some of the pilings with steel piles and some with helical piles. Specifically: remove twenty (20) timber piles, install three (3) 12-inch diameter steel piles and install eleven (11) helical piles.
