Completion of soil borings to support investigation of former petroleum underground storage tanks at building-71 and building-111 at washington navy yard. Soil borings to be complied to maximum depth of 15 feet below grade with backfilling upon completion. No wells will be installed. Soil brings will be backfilled with bentonite slurry (1 gallon of water to 2 pounds of bentonite chips) using the tremie pipe for grouting the boreholes, and then use portland cement for the top 2-3 feet of boreholes. The bentonite slurry should be mixed with 1 gallon of water to 2 pounds of bentonite powder not chips. Grout proportion of six to eight gallons of potable water per 94-pound bag of portland cement- three to six pounds of bentonite added of cement to reduce shrinkage.
