I received a call from fm carl caughorn last night around 6: about a car in a building at 81 fairfax in west asheville. Although the house was not in danger of collapse, the blow was sufficient to know pictures off of all walls and rack/damage some of the interior door frames next to the impact site. The owner/occupants were not in the house at the time of impact but did arrive during the evening. They have secured other places to stay. I advised that they have the house evaluated by a structural engineer before proceeding with any repairs. One electrical wire was damaged, that circuit was turned off at the breaker. They are aware they will need a permit for repairs and have my card. Afd secured a sheet of plywood over the hole. The truck travelled across three lawns and took out a support post for the open porch at 75 fairfax before striking. The nephew of the owner for that house arrived on site and was headed to lowes to purchase a couple 4x4s as i left.
