The temporary retaining wall ( north wall ) will be reinforced with a soil nail type system in accordance with a stamped engineered planned installation and mass code. The multiple soil nail wall will allow more room behind the forms and safer access to the water management system that will be installed around the footing . Our main reason for this application is to make a larger work area during the concrete wall build once the wall is in place the backfilled foundation can take over. Our meeting with dpw has left us with a clear opportunity to install this application without an easement because of the location ( below utilities ) and the nature of the soil nail wall ( temporary ). If for some reason dpw needed to dig to or below our soil nailers in the future it would have no affect on the structure as the nails would be redundant.
