Removal and replacement of 18 ft. X 27 ft. High knockout panel on the exterior wall of the substation building to accommodate the replacement of a transformer within the substation building.

This project involves the construction of a new equipment enclosure located in the front yard of the current alabama avenue substation no. 136, located at 3302 15th street se, washington, dc 20032. The new structure will consist of three electrical equipment bays with mat foundations enclosed by 1 thick reinforced concrete walls with a 4 masonry faade to match the existing building and health and safety screen roofing. Each foundation will include oil containment which drains to a common oil reclaiming pit. In addition, this project will require an 225 extension of the existing driveway, the installation of a retaining wall and a new landscaping plan to provide cover of the new enclosure. The total disturbed area will be approximately 25,3 sq. Ft.

Remove existing wall for 2 locations in the 13. 8 kv substation building west wall to remove equipment size: 10. 5 ft x 12. 33 ft. Then replace the wall with two smaller permanent openings for each location which will provide for cable tray and piping penetration.

Please note the work will be performed on the adjoining parcel, 1501 alabama ave. Se, and the parcel is owned by the same owner. 1501 alabama ave se did not show as an address in the online permitting system. We will be drilling 8 borings to feet using the hollow stem auger method. Boring diameter will be 7 5/8 inches. Borings are for geotechnical-foundation evaluation. No drilling fluids or muds will be used.
