SCORE 99 The georgetown bid worked with ddot, the anc, and adjacent property owners to eliminate illegal parking and ensure pedestrian clearance to the 33rd street bridge over the c & o canal. The agreed-upon solution was to install planters, tables, chairs, and bike racks that would physically block drivers and motorcyclists from storing their vehicles in the dead-end area of 33rd street just north of the canal bridge. After completion of the project and consideration of a memorandum of agreement between the bid and ddot, amanda stout (economic development liaison - directors office) decided that a public space occupancy permit would be the better method of permitting this space for public use. Currently, the planters function to physically block intrusion by motorized vehicles, and the tables and chairs serve to create a usable public space and also to dissuade riders of smaller scooters and motorcycles from storing these vehicles in the area. Since these are already installed, we can confirm Date: June 29, 2017 Contractor: Georgetown Bid Permit type: Fixture; bike rack(s), fixture; planter box behind sidewalk to 42", fixture; street fixture or furniture (exception), fixture; table (except for commercial), fixture; trash receptacle(s) (exception) | Permit status: Assigned | Expiration date: August 10, 2018 | Permit id: 0 | |||||
